"Thoughts just appear. They come out of nothing and go back to nothing, like clouds moving across the empty sky. They come to pass, not to stay. There is no harm in them until we attach to them as if they were true. "
-Byron Katie

Or! Maybe you'll come to the screening of my thesis film Circle Square which will be screening this Sunday at noon at the Greenbelt Arts Center  (123 Centerway) as part of the Short Films Program and the Utopian and Dystopian Visions Program. I will be there so come say hi!

The Goetheanum

An amazing building in Switzerland called the Goetheanum. The building really has this feeling of being like a boulder. Everything is designed to have this organic feeling and the interior is like a crystal or a drawing by M. C. Escher. The building is a center for spiritual science and physical manifestation of the philosophies of Rudolph Steiner.

I'd encourage you to learn more about the Steiner schools, which from what I understand have adopted a more nurturing philosophy to education which encourages emotional and spiritual growth as oppose to just the stuff that's easy to mark.

And thanks to Klaas and his parents for bringing me to this place and taking most of the pictures I included in this post!

Holland's Calling

dutch fields in the early evening.

Klaas and I had spent a whole day hitchhiking from Belgium to Amsterdam and finally. FINALLY. a kind man gave us a lift from the border of the Netherlands

So yeah, the guy felt bad for us because we had spent somewhere around 10 hours getting not very far with not very much hope of finding a driver for the last leg, and he drove us all the way to Amsterdam even though it was well out of his way.

The sky was dark and stormy while golden late afternoon light poured cross pastures.
